Frequently Asked Questions
- Who should become a mentor? Mentors should be leaders who are interested in investing time in the development of others. Eligible mentors are Frontline leaders (anyone with direct reports such as Managers and Supervisors) and above who have been with Convergint for a minimum of 6 months.
- How much time is expected from a mentor? Mentors are encouraged to meet with their mentee(s) for 60-90 minutes once a month throughout the relationship. If additional time is needed, that can be arranged based on the mentor and mentee’s availability, and should be discussed up front.
- What does a mentor do? Mentos do not lead th program, they support it by offering guidance, sharing insight, and helping mentees grwoth throgh encouragement and advice.
- What should I do if my mentoring relationship isn't going well? We encourage letting the mentee know about the situation and contacting a program administrator as soon as possible. We will provide our full support to resolve the situation in a positive and satisfactory manner.
- How are mentors and mentees matched? Mentors and mentees are matched by aligning the mentee's skill development needs with the mentor's strengths, using weighted contributions to help create the best fit. W

- Overcommitting or being inconsistent with time and communication.
